Holiday sickness claims

It is never too soon to start planning your next travels. If you are planning holiday trips for the months ahead, there’s no time like the present, but don’t let your excitement lead you to making any errors of judgement. If you do experience illness or an accident that is not your fault, contact our holiday claims specialists for a free consultation today. In the meantime, wherever you plan to go on holiday, here are the secrets to keeping your time away safe and enjoyable.

Plan with caution

The odds are, your holidays will go smoothly with no major problems along the way. However, if things do go wrong, they can go badly very quickly. The only way to prevent the worst from happening is to plan ahead and protect yourself. This means making sure you have travel and health insurance to cover you while you’re away. You only need that unfortunate scenario to occur once, and the right insurance plan will make sure that the effects of that emergency are minimised.

Even more important than travel insurance is health insurance coverage. Check to make sure that not only your destination area is included in the plan, but also any stop-off locations. You want to make sure you are able to receive timely treatment in the event of a sudden issue, and paying for treatment can often end up an even bigger problem than the medical matter itself.

If you are sick or injured while travelling, know that you have options. Make sure you fully document everything possible related to your circumstances, the causes of the problem, all the paperwork related to your expenses, and anything else that would assist your holiday sickness claim.

Do Your Homework

It may seem obvious, but it is critical to do research before travelling to a new destination or booking a different venue. It can be all too easy to notice a great sale or package deal and feel pressured to book it while it lasts. Then you can end up stuck with travel that may not be what you wanted or expected.

If it sounds too good to be true, read the fine print. There are amazing deals that can be found online. There are also deals that could turn out to be nightmares. Check online reviews to get a better idea of the property and company you’re considering for your reservation. Also take an abundance of outstanding reviews with a pinch of salt – many online comments are posted to promote the company or property. That’s why it is important to look at the text within the reviews rather than simply looking at how many stars there are.

Look for hidden fees and costs. The per-night hotel cost may sound fabulous, only to overshadowed by mandatory add-on costs. So-called daily “resort” and internet fees can run £20 or more per day with daily parking charges (regardless of whether you’ll have a vehicle), “spa” fees, and other additional obligatory costs that could be more than the base daily rate for the room. Will your bargain cruise leave you trapped onboard unless you pay for overpriced excursions that would allow you to see the ports you’ll visit? This are all important questions to ask before you book your trip. Check hotel and other housing locations online to make sure they are located where you need them.
